Core Catalog and Configuration
The Libero IDE Project Manager Catalog contains an extensive list of Actel created and proven commonly used configurable cores and DirectCores that are optimized for easy instantiation into your design. Clicking the core of interest opens a configuration dialog box that enables you to customize the core depending on the core type and the specific needs of the design. Upon generation a structural netlist in EDIF, VHDL, or Verilog is created. For many cores you can generate VHDL and Verilog behavioral models for most parameterized functions for use in simulation.
When using SmartDesign, simply clicking on the core name in the catalog opens the configuration dialog and automatically places the core on the SmartDesign canvas, waiting for connections to be made to other cores.
The Core Catalog supports fast selection, configuration, and generation of processor, bus-based, and Fusion designs, enabling you to create mixed signal functions such as voltage, current, and temperature monitors and any number of other analog measurement systems for a Fusion-based system, including a Cortex-M1 design.
The Core Catalog consists of a wide variety of SmartGen cores, DirectCores, Actel macro cells, HDL templates, and bus interface functions.
Management of DirectCore IP is managed within the Libero IDE "Repository Manager". Libero IDE will display a message on the lower Catalog frame when a new DirectCore or core version is available from the online Actel Repository. Use the "Add Core — From Web Depository" selections in the Catalog to view to download new core or new core versions. You can also direct the Repository Manager to manage or monitor other user-created repositories.

When using standalone Designer, the original SmartGen core library and configurator is available. It displays the full SmartGen project, including core categories, varieties, versions, and brief descriptions, and shows what configured cores are already available as design source files.
