Ariane Controls is a fabless powerline communication (PLC) technology developer offering cost-effective and high performance networking solutions.

Using the existing electrical lines as a communication medium, PLC provides an excellent way of linking together electrical devices into smart networks. Public utilities are adopting PLC as a means of communicating with meters, allowing them to send and receive information on current consumption, diagnostics and remote control for load managements. Building owners and managers are using powerline communication to monitor, diagnose and control loads such as lighting and HVAC systems. Municipalities are also increasingly concerned about managing their infrastructures and are looking for PLC solutions to save energy and reduce maintenance costs.

With its unique and enabling technology, Ariane Controls provides component suppliers and system integrators with the least expensive, most reliable narrowband PLC solution for medium data rate applications.

Ariane's PLC technology implements a patented narrowband frequency-shift keying (FSK) modulation technique. Featuring complete media access control (MAC), forward error correction, programmable parameters and requiring simple external circuits, it provides robust communication in harsh environments and allows the design of more cost-effective PLC transceivers than possible with any other solution.

Ariane's technlology is implemented today on Microsemi FPGAs and the Ariane Controls PLM 1 ASIC.

The technology is also available as an IP license. With its low gate count, Ariane's PLC IP can be easily integrated in FPGA solutions or at minimal cost into other products such as SoCs.
