The ARM® Cortex™-M1-enabled ProASIC3L Development Kit is a complete, fully RoHS-compliant package that enables quick evaluation and design prototyping of Actel's Cortex-M1-enabled ProASIC3L. ProASIC3L FGPAs feature 40 percent lower dynamic power and 90 percent lower static power than the previous generation ProASIC3 FPGAs and orders of magnitude lower power than SRAM competitors, combining dramatically reduced power consumption with up to 350 MHz operation.
The ARM Cortex-M1-enabled ProASIC3L development board has on-board voltage regulation, enabling you to set some of the I/O bank voltages independently. ProASIC3L devices can operate at a core voltage of 1.2 V to 1.5 V, but require the core to be held at 1.5 V during programming. A regulator circuit to allow control of the core voltage is provided on the board. The core voltage may be switched manually or electronically for programming purposes and returned to the 1.2 V setting for the lowest power consumption during normal operation. This board is the same board used in the M1AGL-DEV-KIT-SCS Cortex-M1-enabled IGLOO Development Kit, so documentation and schematics are shared.
Advanced AES encryption for enhancing programming security can be used when experimenting with the development kit. The encryption key is preprogrammed into the device to allow the ARM FPGA-specific processor soft core, Cortex-M1, to be used.
