The Fusion Embedded Development Kit is fully RoHS-compliant and contains a credit card-sized modular board featuring the incredibly powerful ARM® Cortex™-M1-enabled Fusion M1AFS1500 device in the FGG484 package as well as a miniature programming stick. The Fusion Embedded Development Kit is a complete solution that enables you to quickly evaluate Actel's Fusion® mixed-signal FPGA family and prototype your design. Actel Fusion integrates configurable analog, large flash memory blocks, comprehensive clock generation and management circuitry, and high-performance, flash-based programmable logic in a monolithic device. The Fusion Embedded Development Kit quickly demonstrates that a single-chip solution for complex embedded systems can monitor analog signals, manage power, and monitor temperature. This can all be done from the Fusion FPGA, which only needs a single 3.3 V supply. Embedded systems use a variety of microprocessor cores such as the ARM Cortex-M1 and the Core8051s soft cores; design examples using both of these soft cores are included in this kit. The included programming stick enables easy experimentation with ISP, device serialization, and FlashLock® on-chip system security.
The Fusion Embedded Development Kit board has on-board voltage regulation, enabling you to internally generated voltage standards from the Fusion device or externally generated from the on-board regulators.
Key Features:
- Environmentally-friendly, RoHS-compliant board
- Powered by USB cable or external 5 V power
- Two USB cables and an international 5 V power supply are included

Other Fusion-based Kits:
Other Cortex-M1-based Kits:
The Fusion Embedded Development Kit includes the following:
- Evaluation board with an M1AFS1500-FGG484 device
- M1AFS1500 is the largest die in the Fusion family for designs of up to 1,500,000 system gates and includes 1 MB of embedded nonvolatile flash memory. Although ARM Cortex-M1-enabled, this FPGA can also use other microprocessor cores including Core8051s to permit full experimentation for embedded systems prototyping.
- 512 KB SRAM
- 2 MB SPI flash
- Temperature diode and analog potentiometer
- Clocks: 32.768 kHz and 50 MHz oscillators are provided
- Four LEDs and four switches: Provide simple inputs and outputs to the system
- USB to UART connection for HyperTerminal on a PC
- Optional board power connector for an external supply, but none is needed when connected to a powered USB cable
- RVI-ME header
- Dynamic system reconfiguration with reconfigurable analog and dynamically reconfigurable flash memory
- FlashPro3 programmer built into the LCPS
- Plugs directly into Fusion embedded development board. A USB 2.0 high-speed cable plugs into the LCPS to allow the Fusion embedded development board to be programmed.
