Designer v5.2 Service Pack 1 Release Notes
Thank you for your interest in Actel's Designer v5.2 design implementation
software. These v5.2 SP1 release notes outline new features and benefits,
new device support, known limitations, and other information about this
release.
This Service Pack only includes a patch or patches supporting Designer
v5.2. Designer v5.2 software in total can be obtained from the
Release
Notes.
This Service Pack does not contain new features or enhancements. This
service pack addresses important fixes in the software.
Workarounds are no longer required for Resolved Issues.
Timer
35508/36336
v5.2 puts arbitrary numbers into the SDF file for register recovery
time. In older versions, this recovery time for AX devices was 0.0ns.
This SP1 resolves the problem by having approximate delays in the SDF
file.

– In AX and RTAX devices, the RCLK/HCLK will automatically snap
when they are illegally assigned. RCLK/HCLK I/Os can only be assigned
to the P side of a paired I/O, however, if the user assigns it to the
N-side of the pair either using MVN or PDC, the software will let the
user proceed without a warning.
Also, snapping could result in similar issues with the LVDS/LVPECL I/O
assignments in the PDC if the user assigns (switches) the N and P sides
incorrectly (for example, if the user assigns the N side macro to the
P-side I/O, software will not generate a warning and will silently switch
the 2 assignments internally). The software does not error out when this
type of illegal I/O assignment is done in PDC. In the MVN, however, the
paired I/Os can only be moved together, and so they are assigned to the
correct locations. SP1 resolves the above issues.

– Designer v5.2 does not contain Flexlm utilities. lmdiag, lmgrd,
lmutil, etc are missing from the ./bin directory of the Linux build of
Designer v5.2. Designer cannot be launched. This issue is resolved in
v5.2 SP1.

– In AX devices, the PLL does not work with external feedback.
A PLL with external feedback does not provide the correct output frequency.
SP1 resolves this issue.

– In AX and SX-A devices, the DL2A macro does not behave as documented.
Row two of the Antifuse Macro Library Guide for Software v5.2 DL2A table
is not true in simulation.
IFF CLR=1, G=0, D=1, PRE=1, then Q=undefined. For all other combinations,
the latch behaves as expected. The documentation claims q=1 for this
condition. SP1 resolves this issue.
