Silicon Sculptor v3.93 DOS and v4.56.0 Windows Release Notes

Silicon Sculptor DOS v3.93 and Windows v4.56.0 is a new general release of the Silicon Sculptor software. This release features support for new devices in the ProASIC3, ProASIC3E, AX, RTAX-S and SX-A families.

Note:

RT54SX-S and RTSX-SU
Starting with the v4.50.0 release and including all subsequent releases, RT54SX-S and RTSX-SU products require Silicon Sculptor II programmer to program. Programming RT54SX-S and RTSX-SU products with Silicon Sculptor I has been discontinued.

SX-A
Starting with the v4.53.0 release and all subsequent releases, programming enhancement to SX-A devices is implemented with the enhancement previously included in RT54SX-S and RTSX-SU devices. For all SX-A devices, new AFMs are available with the Libero/Designer 6.2 SP1 release. The v4.53.0 release of Silicon Sculptor software can take advantage of these AFMs by automatically using new programming conditions previously only available in the Rad Tolerant family of devices. Older AFMs may continue to be used and the software will automatically use the older programming conditions in this case. Silicon Sculptor II must be used to program with these new enhancements. A reduced but enhanced set of programming conditions is used for programming all SX-A devices on Silicon Sculptor I programmers.

  • VGA or higher-resolution video adapter (SVGA 256-color and 800x600 or higher resolution recommended)
  • For Windows 2000 and Windows XP systems, you must have administration rights to the local workstation for installation purposes.

    Support added for APA600-CG624M and APA600-CG624B, A3P250-FG256, A3PE600-FG256 devices in the ProASIC3 and ProASIC3E families. These devices can only be programmed using STAPL files. Additionally, support is now provided for RTAX2000S-LG1152B and RTAX2000S-LG1152E devices and all A54SX32A-CQ84 devices.

  • SARno50878: Vpp max raised by 0.5V for A54SX programming
  • SARno49993: Expected and actual IDCODEs are now displayed for AX
  • SARno46529: APA ISP Programming adapter module. Option added to allow TRST to be driven high. This is provided to overcome an observed situation where some APA devices will power up with the JTAG state machine locked up (I/O tristated and weakly pull-up).

  1. After downloading, copy the 'sculpt393.exe' file to your specified directory to install the Silicon Sculptor software.
  2. In Windows Explorer, find the directory where you copied the 'sculpt393.exe' file.
  3. Double click the 'sculpt393.exe' file.
