Actel Appoints New Area Sales Director for Japan

Experience to Drive Company's Low-Power Sales Initiatives
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., January 28, 2008 —
Arming its sales force with the seasoned
leadership required to drive demand for its award-winning low-power technologies,
Actel today announced it has named Masaharu Katayama as its new area
sales director for Japan. He will be responsible for leading Actel's
growth initiatives for its industry-leading, low-power field-programmable
gate array (FPGA) and programmable system chip (PSC) solutions, accelerating
the deployment of these products into existing and emerging high-volume
markets in Japan.
Katayama comes to Actel from Zarlink Semiconductor, where he served
as sales director for Japan. Before joining Zarlink, Katayama held
various engineering, distribution management and country manager positions
at Silicon Wave, Inc., Macnica Inc., Tality/Cadence Design Systems,
Inc., and IBM Corporation among others.

Katayama holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Tokyo Electronic
Engineering College.
