Actel Quality Program Receives Stack Certification
Company Also Receives Recertification for ISO 9001:2000
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 18, 2005 —
Actel Corporation
(Nasdaq: ACTL), a leading provider of programmable logic solutions, today
announced it has received STACK certification from STACK International
after an extensive audit verifying the company's commitment to delivering
quality products. Actel also announced it has been recertified for ISO
9001:2000 after an audit by NSF International, a world leader in management
systems registrations. These two certifications demonstrate the conformance
of Actel's quality systems to internationally recognized standards and
provide another benchmark of Actel's commitment to supply field-programmable
gate arrays (FPGAs) of the highest quality across its diverse customer
base.
"Actel's successful completion of the STACK high-level quality
systems audit and compliance with the STACK specification S/0001 demonstrates
that Actel is dedicated to the quality of its products," said Zia
Fatherazi, managing director, STACK International. "Users are now
empowered to select Actel devices with the knowledge that quality and
reliability are designed into the company's products from the very beginning
of the design cycle."
Dennis Kish, vice president of marketing, Actel, said, "Our comprehensive
portfolio of certifications covers Actel's entire process from development
and design to product and customer support. The new STACK certification
and the recertification of ISO 9001:2000 are proof that Actel is committed
to meeting or exceeding all product and manufacturing quality standards."
A non-profit organization established in 1974, STACK International is
a group of multinational, independent, high-reliability electronics equipment
manufacturers who, in a pre-competitive environment, share experience
and resources. The program is designed to help reduce costs and the risk
of component ownership in the telecom equipment, commercial and military
avionics, consumer electronics and sub-contract manufacturing markets.
STACK certification represents formal recognition by STACK that Actel
meets requirements in the "STACK Purchase Specification, General
Requirements for Integrated Circuits."
Actel first received ISO 9001:2000 certification in March 2004. As part
of ISO certification, Actel participates in a biannual audit by NSF,
an independent ISO 9001 Registrar company, which examines Actel's quality
procedures and resources to verify conformance with the standard. ISO
9001:2000 is a business process tool that helps companies manage their
business in a controlled, predictable manner. The result is high quality,
dependable products and services.
