Actel

Spotlight on Interns

Comments from Application Engineering Intern, Yan Chan, PEY Intern Class 2002-2003

"I've had previous summer jobs, but a full-year internship really gave me more chance to get into the job of what a full-timer would experience. As the internship developed, I got increasing responsibilities, and a few months into the internship, I was already involved in the same scope and level other full-timers were.

Through this experience, I gained a sense of what's out there in industry. In my role as an applications engineer and dealing with customers daily, I got to use a lot of the knowledge I gained in school and applied it to a real life setting and see it in use.

I've enjoyed my time at Actel. The people are really friendly and experienced and willing to teach me new things. Being in sunny California made this PEY experience that much more exciting! I've gotten a chance to explore most of the western United States."

Comments from Joan Grant, PEY Intern Class 2003-2004

"Actel's culture is one of openness and flexibility. Individuals are not necessarily cast into strict/unchanging job definitions - for the motivated individual who shows initiative, there are very few boundaries in terms of learning, professional/personal growth, and contribution. The work environment coupled with the attitude of the management and executive staff promotes and fosters a group identity whereby every individual/group's contributions are tied to the corporate goals, allowing everyone to share in the feelings of accomplishments and responsibilities."

Comments from Jackson Chung, PEY Intern Class 2003-2004

"After working at Actel as a product engineering intern for 8 months, I find that Actel strongly values and respects the strength of its staff by devoting an extensive amount of resources in training its new generation of engineers (ex. the PEY Intern Program). Actel's corporate culture emphasizes the importance of the customers. Customer satisfaction is always our top priority. Moreover, Actel encourages its staff to always take the initiative in improving one's technical knowledge."
